Teleperformance DIBS, DTDC Express to lock horns in RCF T20 final

The highlights of Teleperformance win in the first semis was Skipper Raunaq Sharma half century knock of 52 runs and Karan Shah’s all-round efforts 23 runs and 2 wickets for 24 runs, which paved the way for their success.

In a keenly contested encounter, Space SC electing to field first after winning the toss managed to contain the Teleperformance batters to a modest total of 131 for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Rugved More and Kartik Mishra shared five wickets while conceding 47 runs in eight overs.

Latter a disciplined bowling attack well-backed by some excellent fielding restricted Space CC to 128 for 8 wickets from their stipulated 20 overs. Off-spinner Karan Shah was well-supported by medium pacer Divyansh Saxena and bagged two wickets each were instrumental in their team snatching a tight victory. Space CC batters Gautam Waghela was the top scorer with 45 runs, while Vikas Singh and Nehal Shaikh made substantial contributions of 39 and 23 runs each, but all their efforts went in vain.

Earlier Space SC had registered an impressive 50 runs win over Navi Mumbai based Repro India CC after setting a target of 209 in their quarter-final tie. Space SC bowlers Vikas Singh (3/34) and Rugved More (2/24) claimed wickets at crucial junctures to restrict Repro to 158 for 9 wickets in 18.3 overs.

In the second semifinals electing to bat first DTDC Express amassed a total of 188 for 9 wickets from their 20 overs. Middle-order bat Vedant Murkar struck a quick fire 39-ball 70 runs (6×4,4×6), while opening batsman and captain Anish Choudhary scored a 26-ball 44 runs (4×4,3×6), after a shaky start wherein they lost three quick wickets with just a solitary run on the board in the second over. A late charge from Ajinkya Beloshe who smashed three sixes and two boundaries in his 9-ball 28 runs innings ensured a healthy total. Western Railway’s medium pacers Drushant Soni (4/28) was the most impressive bowler on display and  was ably assisted by Vijay Gadhvi who took two wickets.

In reply, Western Railway also suffered early setbacks losing both the openers Mrunal Devdhar and Asad Pathan for ducks. But, left-handed Chavan batted aggressively making a 34-ball 63 runs which included eight boundaries and three sixes. Soni 41 runs,  Omprakash Jaiswal 40 and Nikhunj Mohite 21 kept the railmen on track in their run chase. But, the DTDC bowlers were disciplined and put the brakes on the opposition batsmen who were unable to get the last few runs and failed to cross the finish line.
